Reliable smoke-proof and fire-resistant curtains
When choosing a manufacturer of fire barriers, first of all it is necessary to pay attention to the quality control system of products used by a potential supplier. The key characteristics will be cost-effectiveness, reliability, operability, absence of defects in production, and, in general, the technical perfection of the curtain design.
Specialists of our company quite often face situations when fire screens do not perform their tasks at various facilities, failures are frequent, problems during operation. And these are quite serious violations that threaten fines and even criminal liability in case of death in a fire.
Quality control and certification of fire barriers
Fire-fighting products are checked and tested for compliance with the specified parameters in accordance with federal laws, regulations and regulations. The certificate confirms that curtains can restrain flames, smoke and heat flow for a certain time, but such parameters as reliability, operability (resistance to failures), as a rule, are not checked. This leads to the fact that some manufacturers produce products of such quality that only allows them to hand over products to the Customer, and the issues of subsequent operation and trouble-free operation of curtains (the probability of triggering, lowering) in the event of an emergency, trouble-free passage of periodic inspections of State Supervision, unfortunately, they are less interested in. What does this lead to? Consider below.
Construction and fabric of fire curtains
The design of flame-retardant and smoke-proof curtains is quite simple, but each manufacturer has design features that determine the main operational characteristics of the product. Let's discuss the components used in more detail:
1. The thickness of the metal for the guides and the box.
Saving often leads to the fact that the guide rails or cutting tires are deformed, an example below:

And how about an MBA?
We use galvanized sheet steel with a thickness of 1.5-2 mm, and for the manufacture of large-sized barriers, steel with a thickness of 2-3 mm is used. This thickness of the steel sheet makes it possible to exclude the occurrence of distortions and deformations during operation.

2. Used fire-resistant fabric for curtains.
At construction sites, we have encountered several types of canvas and fire-resistant fabric used for it. There was a canvas made of fabric of unknown origin, similar to foil. Some manufacturers produce multilayer structures, the type of which can be conditionally attributed to "mattresses" or "blankets". The density of the fabric and the composition of the canvas are not known to us, but at many sites where such curtains are installed, we observed distortions, tears of the canvases, jamming of the structure.

Fire-resistant MVA fabric
For curtains, we use fire-resistant fabric of European production with high coefficients of strength and tensile resistance, which are achieved by reinforcing the fabric with stainless wire.

3. Automation and control devices.
In accordance with Article 88 of Federal Law No. 123, automatic fire curtains and screens must be lowered automatically when a fire occurs, even in the absence of power supply.
Some companies install fire-fighting systems with manual control, key-buttons or other controls, the use of which is strictly prohibited.
To reduce the cost of the curtain, some designers complete their products with electric drives with low cost, and therefore with low reliability indicators.
For our fire-fighting screens, we use repeatedly tested control units of our own production, which allows us to ensure the highest probability of triggering (lowering) the curtains in the event of a fire and receiving a signal from a centralized fire alarm system.
Let's summarize!
In some segments of the dimensional grid, the cost of our flame-retardant curtains of certain fire resistance limits may exceed the cost of curtains with similar claimed parameters from other manufacturers.
But think about it, does saving about 5-7% of the cost justify the risks that during the operation of fire-retardant curtains, the customer is likely to encounter failures, unscheduled repairs, problems during inspections of State Fire Supervision and often, eventually, the emergence of a situation where the installation of new, high-quality fire protection systems is required? We offer you the supply and installation of high-quality, reliable and technically advanced fire curtains of the production company "MBA". We will be glad to cooperate!
