Fire-fighting gates from the manufacturer МВА EI60
What is a fire gate?
Fire-fighting or fire-resistant gates are technically complex and standardized products that prevent the spread of fire and smoke between fire compartments (rooms) or buildings.
Industrial fire-fighting gates are not intended for intensive use and they cannot be installed as ordinary entrance gates. If the project provides for fire barriers at the entrance, then the only correct option is a combination of conventional roll-up, sectional or other gates and automatic fire-fighting gates or curtains. If a fire occurs, the gate will be lowered by a signal from the alarm system and prevent the spread of the fire. On internal openings, fire-resistant gates can be closed automatically by a signal from the fire department or be permanently closed.
Fire-resistant gates can be of the following design: swing, sliding, roll, sliding, sectional. The type of fire barriers is laid in the design of the building at the design stage and depends on the availability of free space on the side and top of the opening. Each product has its own installation features and the required free space. Also, the weight of fire-fighting structures should be taken into account, since metal preparation of the opening may be required for the installation of the gate. Builders do not always follow the drawings and install fire curtains according to the project. Sometimes, it is economically and technically feasible to replace the type of barrier with another one with the same fire resistance characteristics.
How do fire-resistant industrial gates work?
Automatic fire-fighting gates work on a signal from a fire alarm and they cannot be lifted until the fire alarm is removed. In normal mode, to check the operability and maintenance, the gate installation can be closed and opened using the manual control buttons on the remote control. To integrate with the fire safety control panel, a "dry contact" output is required.
When a fire signal is received on the control panel of the sliding and swing gates, the holding magnet is de-energized and the opening closes even in the absence of electricity. At fire-resistant gates of roll and sectional type, the web is driven by an electric drive. In the absence of electricity, the engine is powered by a battery built into the control unit.
What are fire-fighting gates made of?
The design of the fireproof gates is made according to European standards, time-tested and tested in a certified laboratory, which issues a certificate for state-standard fire-fighting products. The gate system includes:
-
metal guides and structural elements;
-
canvas filled with stone wool or other non-combustible materials;
thermoactive seals that prevent the passage of smoke and fire in the places where the canvas is adjacent;
gate for emergency evacuation (if necessary);
hatch for pulling fire hydrants;
the control unit with which the motor and the holding magnet are controlled;
electric motor and/or mechanical systems (cables, magnets, closers).
Fire-resistant gates according to GOST
Certification of fire doors and gates takes place according to Federal Law No. 123 and GOST 533030 2009 fire gates (from 2020 according to the EAEU TR 043/2017). Fire lifting gates are one of the technical solutions to prevent the spread of fire in the openings of residential and industrial buildings. They provide (in case of fire) the possibility of safe evacuation of people and access of fire departments to the source of ignition, meet fire safety standards and are subject to mandatory certification.
The certificate of the state standard of fire-fighting gates confirms that the gates of the MBA (firetechnics) have been tested in a state-accredited laboratory and comply with the legislative and regulatory acts of the Russian Federation.
Fire-fighting gates should minimize human and material losses in the event of a fire, limit the spread of fire into rooms near the source of ignition.
Fire resistance is the time at which the fire will not spread to the adjacent room and during which the gate fire protection systems will remain intact:
E is the time during which the structure does not lose its integrity;
I is the time during which the canvas and structural elements withstand fire and heat transfer temperature. On the reverse side of the canvas, it should not exceed 220 degrees Celsius.
Where fire-fighting gate systems are installed
Fire barriers, including gates, are installed according to the project of the building and fire safety, must meet modern requirements of architecture and design. The gates can be installed both at the entrance to the building, parking or hangar, and indoors, for separation into fire containment compartments.
The type of construction of fire-fighting gates can be different, depending on the location of communications, the planned purpose and the need for protection from penetration.
We have experience in installing fire-resistant gates in premises for various purposes from large production workshops to shopping and entertainment centers and museums.
Types of fire-fighting gate structures
For modern construction, gates are used, the price of which can vary significantly. This is influenced by the type of construction and lifting mechanism. The gate can be:
- rolled fire gates on fabric, these gates are the most compact and roll up into a small roll over the opening;
- rolled fire-resistant on mineral wool (basalt plate) – the most common construction, but the gates have a large mass;
- sliding and sliding fire–resistant gates – can be telescopic, one, two, three-fold, a simple system with cables and magnets that works even in the absence of electricity;
- lifting fire-fighting gates - the canvas can be solid or made of lamellae and rise vertically upwards;
- lifting-sectional - work on the principle of conventional garage sectional doors, but the canvas is much heavier and the frequency of use is limited;
- swing doors-fire-fighting gates are the most common and inexpensive gate structures.
From this wide range of fire-fighting gates FireMarc, FireRollGate, FireShield, you can buy a gate with an additional gate and hatch for sectional, swing, lifting and sliding structures.
Fire resistance of the gate from the company MBA (MBA)
The MBA Gate manufacturing company produces fire-proof structures of the following fire resistance:
-
EI 60 is the most common and popular fire resistance limit, which also covers requests for gates EI 15, EI 30 and EI 45. With such a limit of fire protection, we can make any gate structure inexpensively.
-
EI 90 - we produce sliding fire doors with increased fire retention due to an increase in the density of the basalt plate;
-
EI 120 - sliding and sliding gate structures with increased web thickness are manufactured.
The cost of fire-fighting garage doors
The cost of fire-resistant gates is calculated individually and depends on the design, size, control unit and the need for painting. The approximate cost per square meter can be seen on the page of the gate you need. The price with delivery is calculated according to the tariff of the transport company, delivery to the terminal can be free.
Installation of fireproof gate structures
Installation of fire-fighting gate systems should be carried out only by a company that is a member of the SRO and with a license of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for installation and maintenance of fire-fighting systems. If you want to install fire-resistant gates yourself, then for these cases there is a service from MBA - "installation supervision". If you contact a company that does not have a license of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and membership in the SRO, then the fire inspectorate will not accept fire barriers and the construction object.
The type of installation is agreed upon during measurement and may vary, depending on the material of the supporting structures, the availability of communications, finishes and design.
