There are two types of fire curtain designs, depending on the drive used:

The Gravigen system is a system that allows you to block the opening even in the absence of electricity. The curtain is held by an electromagnet and when a signal is received from the remote control about a fire, the contact opens and the curtain falls under the influence of gravity. A natural question arises, but what happens if there is no fire, and the electricity in the building is turned off? In this case, the magnet is powered by an uninterruptible power supply and remains operational for up to 72 hours.

The system with an intravenous motor - the system works to open and close the opening from electricity and is controlled from the remote control of the fire protection system, when the power is turned off, the curtain can be lowered due to the battery. Please note that most of the curtain drives are powered by a 220 volt mains.
Types of fire curtains
Depending on the composition of the canvas, non-flammable curtains without irrigation can be of different fire resistance: from EI15, EI30, EI45 to EI60, EI90, EI120. For the EI 60 with irrigation, a single-layer construction with a heat-resistant fabric and a cut-off tire at the bottom is used. To increase fire resistance, a multilayer structure is used, where the inner layer contains a bulging carbon layer that expands when heated. The EI value shows how many minutes the barrier will withstand a fire.

In 2021, we received new EAEU certificates for fire curtains with a fire resistance of 60 and 120 minutes, which means we can supply fire-resistant curtains for buildings with projected barriers from 15 to 120 minutes inclusive.
Integration of fire protection with fire alarm systems
Our fire barriers perfectly integrate with all fire systems and alarms of both Russian and foreign production. It is enough to output a control signal (dry contact) to our control unit from the fire alarm system. Fire barriers can be closed automatically when the alarm is triggered and controlled manually, if necessary.
The box of the fire-retaining screen
It consists of three bent, galvanized sheet steel 1.5 mm panels, up to 3 m long. To build long curtains, the panels are docked with each other. Both ends of the case are closed with covers that hermetically close the circuit. The side covers also serve to sense the torque of the tubular motor. The overall dimensions of the box depend on the height of the blocked opening.

The installation of fire barriers is regulated by Federal Law No. 123 and such systems are not installed without an approved project. In some cases, at the request of the fire inspection, fire curtains are installed in those buildings that were designed according to old standards and do not meet modern fire safety requirements.
Fire curtains are used in the construction of parking lots, entertainment and shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, museums and other facilities for various purposes. Fire-resistant curtains are also installed during the construction of warehouses, industrial premises, administrative, medical and educational institutions.
Most often we install fire/smoke-proof curtains on atriums, checkout areas, elevator openings, vestibule locks, entrance and window openings, but there are other openings provided for by the project, for example, horizontal openings, conveyor openings and large concert halls.
