The principle of operation of the flame retardant curtain
There are 2 design options:
The first option: the canvas is folded by an intravenous motor and held open by an electromagnet. As a result of the operation of the fire protection system, the curtain is lowered and closes the opening. When a signal is received from the remote control, the electromagnet opens and releases the curtain mechanism. The opening is closed due to gravity, the mass of the canvas and the cutting bar, the lowering speed is 0.15 meters per second.
In the absence of electricity, the electromagnet is held by the battery in the UPS. The operating time of the IPB depends on the capacity of the installed battery and is usually 72 hours.
The second option: with an intravenous 220V motor without an electromagnet. Lowering and lifting of the structure is performed by the engine when the fire alarm is triggered. In the absence of electricity, the curtain is lowered due to the presence of a UPS.
Execution with a loophole door is possible. A fire curtain with a loophole door is not installed on evacuation routes.
Fire resistance limits of the fire retaining screen:
- EI180 (with one-way use of water irrigation from existing sprinkler or drencher fire extinguishing systems of the building, water consumption is not less than (0.08 *h) l/m * s per linear meter in width, where h is the height of the curtain in meters).
- The fire resistance limits EI15, EI45, EI60, EI90, EI120 are within 180 minutes - a separate certificate is not required. Fire resistance is achieved by the amount of water supplied to the curtain during a fire.

The design of the fire curtain
The design of a non-combustible curtain is quite simple and reliable. The box that closes the drive shaft is made of galvanized sheet steel or stainless steel (on request). The design is made exactly under the opening according to measurements and drawings and can be of different sizes, depending on the height and length of the curtain. With a length of more than 4 meters , the box is 33x33 cm. It is possible to paint the box and guides according to the RAL color scale.
The shaft on which the curtain is wound is made of a strong metal pipe, into which an intravenous engine of European production is placed.
Curtain Cloth MBA (FireTechnics, FireShield)
Fabric density 240-660 g/m2;The canvas is single-layered. The fabric has both European and Russian quality certificates.
The canvas for curtains is certified European. For large sizes, the fabric is reinforced with stainless wire and has a high tear density and resistance to high temperatures, non-toxic and non-flammable. Fully complies with all the requirements of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
To strengthen the large-width structures, metal pukli are installed, which prevent the web from leaving the guides. A design with pockets that guide the canvas along the side rods is possible.
For large-size fire curtains (Premium), a reinforced structure is used with additional rollers that support the shaft and eliminate its sagging. In this design, the box and guides differ from the standard design, thicker metal and powerful motors are used. Premium curtains use reinforced fire-resistant fabric with a metal frame inside.
Fire curtains price per m2
The price of a fire curtain depends on many factors, it is not a mass product that is manufactured according to standard sizes. Even a simple-looking construction project has its own characteristics, the size of the lintel, laid communications, design elements and other circumstances that need to be taken into account when calculating the cost. Most often, after leaving for the measurement of our employee, it turns out that the dimensions of the opening do not coincide with the project and the prescribed fire barriers are difficult to install or operate. Where to install curtains-screens from fire
Fire curtains with irrigation are laid in a construction project and installed in various buildings for their intended purpose and cover several types of openings. By appointment, fire curtains are often ordered to shopping and entertainment centers, industrial and warehouse premises, parking lots, cultural facilities, public, medical institutions.Types of openings that, according to the project, should be blocked in case of fire, usually do not have the possibility of installing a stationary barrier made of non-combustible material. This can be an elevator opening, a vestibule-gateway, a transition between a kitchen and a hall in a cafe or restaurant, a transition from one shop to another in production, and so on.
- The cutting profile helps the curtain to lower faster and protects the room from fire. For greater efficiency, a carbon material that swells at high temperature is glued at the bottom of the profile;
- Drive - a time-tested and experienced German intravenous engine is installed;
- KMS-EV-4.0 control unit - control is performed directly from the fire alarm control panel. If the power supply is turned off at the facility, then an autonomous battery is used to lower the curtain, which is necessarily installed in structures at facilities with a power supply category below Class 1.
- The loophole door (gate) is made at the request of the customer, depending on the project.
According to SP 4.13130.2009
5.3.7 The opening of the construction portal of the stages of clubs and theaters with halls with a capacity of 800 seats or more must be protected by a fire curtain. The fire resistance limit of the fire curtain must be at least EI 60. The thermal insulation of the curtain should be made of NG group materials that do not emit toxic decomposition products.
5.3.12 Windows and openings from projection rooms to the stage or backstage, film projection rooms, from hardware and light projection rooms to the auditorium, if film projectors are installed in them, must be protected by curtains or shutters with a fire resistance limit of at least EI 15.
4.25 Enclosing structures of elevator shafts (with the exception of passenger elevators descending no lower than the first floor, with enclosing structures of elevator shafts made of NG group materials with non-normalized fire resistance limits located in the volume of stairwells, as well as elevator shafts located outside buildings) and elevator engine rooms (except those located on the roof), as well as channels, shafts and niches for laying communications must meet the requirements for fire-fighting partitions of the 1st type and overlappings of the 3rd type. The fire resistance limit of the enclosing structures between the elevator shaft and the elevator engine room is not normalized. If it is impossible to install fire doors in the fences of the above elevator shafts, it is necessary to provide vestibules or halls with fire partitions of the 1st type and overlappings of the 3rd type or screens that automatically close the doorways of elevator shafts in case of fire. Such screens should be made of NG group materials, and their fire resistance limit should not be lower than EI 45.
